Great idea.
Just found this great little blog: The Mass of Vatican II. The fellow is arguing (with perhaps more strident language than I would use, and not with all valid arguments) that the reforms of the missal in 1965 and 1967 were authentic, organic developments based on the true spirit and letter of Vatican II, whereas the missal of 1969 was not.

Thanks, Jeff. I'm extremely amazed at how you can so readily sniff out all the little Truffles of Truth scattered throughout the Internet. I wouldn't know where to start myself. Do you think my response to his blog post was unfounded? (It's the 20 point critique blog.)

Those word stop the others dead in their tracks. Trinity turns around, her face tight.
TRINITY: What did you just say?
MATT: Nothing. Just had a little deja vu.
TRINITY: What happened? What did you see?
MATT: A blog post went passed us and then I saw another that looked just like it.
TRINITY: How much like it? Was it the same post?
MATT: It might have been. I'm not sure.
Trinity looks at Morpheus, who listens quietly to the rasping breath of the old building.
MATT: What is it?
TRINITY: A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Blogger. It happens when they change something...
I just looked at his text a little more closely is all. I don't fault his general thesis, but, you know, I would take on the subject a little differently.
The opportunity was there so I took it. I had a great laugh. Sorry if I got you on the defensive I didn't mean it. I should've placed the obligatory "tee hee hee" at the end.
You don't fault his thesis, huh? Well, I do. Big time.
True wisdom is being able to accept reproof, right? Humility is necessary to do so. Why couldn't he accept your reproof? I smelled the gathering waft of intellectual pride he exuded from the beginning of his blog and when he couldn't concede to you in any small way I saw the fumes.
His selfish pride taints his entire stance and makes it false.
In arrogance I see weakness. In humility I see strength. And you know why. Courage. The former requires none, whereas the latter demands courage absolute.
Who goes away justified, the Pharisee or the tax collector?
I don't know why you suggest that he couldn't accept my reproof. I never reproofed him. I'm sure I could engage him in a good discussion, but the subject doesn't really interest me that much. The 1965 missal might have been better, but it's obliterated by now. I've never heard of a strong movement to revive it.
I am a font of misplaced zeal. A fool to judge. I've no business here.
